Karen is a graduate of Sutherland-Chan School & Teaching Clinic and is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She is also Dr. Vodder certified in Manual Lymph Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapy. Prior to her training in massage therapy, she received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario.

Through her training and clinic experience she has experience in treating patients with the following conditions: Headaches/Migraines, Lymphedema, Cancer, Post Surgery Scar Work, Pregnancy, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Cord Injuries, Plantar Fasciitis, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, and TMJ, to name a few.

Karen also has a special interest in Breast Health and Breast Massage. She believes it to be an area which often gets overlooked and she ensures that her patients are provided with an open and comfortable environment to discuss their breast health. This can be anything from dealing with premenstrual breast pain, pregnancy & discomforts with breastfeeding, to patients who have had a lumpectomy/mastectomy/breast reconstruction due to a breast cancer diagnosis. As a breast cancer survivor herself, she has first-hand knowledge of how breast massage can help in the recovery process after a mastectomy and/or breast reconstruction.

During her youth and adolescent years, Karen trained professionally in ballet at the National Ballet School in Toronto and at the Quite Ballet School in Belleville. Having sustained her fair share of injuries during her dancing career, she understands how important it is to take care of one’s body and how helpful massage can be to aid in the recovery process.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
