Equipment
ALPHA East offers a range of specialized equipment designed to facilitate your journey towards recovery from neurological or orthopedic conditions. This equipment is used by our experienced Physiotherapists to provide the support and versatility needed for a wide array of rehabilitation needs, ensuring that you receive the best care possible.

Oswestry Standing Frame
A standing frame is a specialized piece of equipment in Physiotherapy rehabilitation to assist individuals with limited mobility in achieving an upright standing position. Your physiotherapist may suggest trying a standing frame during your session as way to explore weight bearing through your legs. The standing frame provides support for those with reduced leg strength and impaired trunk control or balance. It helps build overall muscle strength and endurance in the legs and postural muscles of the trunk and can be used to train sit-to-stand or stand-to-sit movements with increased stability from the standing frame. This equipment also offers a supportive standing position for exploring upper body activation.

Parallel Bars
Parallel bars can be used in Physiotherapy to provide increased support and stability for patients working transfers from sitting to standing, standing or beginning to take steps. They help individuals gain confidence in an upright position, particularly if strength, balance and coordination are impaired. Parallel bars are also valuable for gait training exercises while ensuring patient safety.

Pilates Reformer
The Pilates Reformer consists of a sliding carriage and adjustable spring tension, offering a versatile form of resistance training. It can be used to improve the strength and control of isolated muscle groups affected by injuries or surgeries, as well as promoting elongation and stretching of muscles and joints. It encourages proper alignment and posture while allowing for gentle, gravity-eliminated exercises for individuals who may be unable to perform such movements in an upright position. Pilates Reformer exercises within physiotherapy focus on smooth and controlled movements through the available range of motion, with the ultimate goal of regaining functional movement.

Treadmill

Strengthening Equipment
Our clinic’s strengthening equipment includes a cable machine, dumbbells, kettlebells, barbell and plates, ankle weights and resistance bands. Our Physiotherapists use this equipment to customize patient-specific exercise programs and gradually increase resistance to help build muscle strength and overall function. This can be an important component of addressing specific weaknesses or imbalances resulting from injuries or chronic conditions.
